TYPES OF WATER TANK BASES
- Sand-Its cheap but it can have challenges as it could get washed by the flow water
- Clay-Same like sand if proper care is not taken it also gets washed away
- Concrete-It is expensive but will long last.Looks neat and clean
- Pea gravel-An option which is better than sand because it is solid.It also needs to be supported so it does not degrade over time.
- If using concrete, remove rocks-Tanks can get punctured due to this as tanks withstand lots of pressure in the bottom.
- Never use two base for single tank-Problem is when it rains dirt gets washed away.This puts extra pressue on the base and can split the tank into two.
- Make sure its supported if using sand or clay-Because due to runs sand or clay can getwashed away so its compulsory to support them.
- Base should always be leveled-as the tanks has lot of pressure in the bottom as mentioned earlier.
